Dr. Michael Branch earned his Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree from Texas Chiropractic College in 1982. Following graduation from Northwestern State University in 1976 he attained Certification as an Athletic Trainer (ATC) by the National Athletic Trainers Association. The American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians awarded Dr. Branch the status of Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP) in 1991. He has received many other awards and honors from his national and state chiropractic and athletic trainer associations.
Dr. Branch is an original member of Wrangler Sports Chiropractic and regularly worked the rodeo circuit spanning two decades. Although he retired from active work on the rodeo trail, he continues to keep his rodeo certification current. Dr. Branch was selected to complete an internship at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO.
He was appointed to treat Olympic athletes at the U.S. Olympic Trials and the U.S.A Games. He also has worked many NCAA track and field championships and is a current member of the United States Olympic Medal Society and a charter Olympic Sixth Ring member.
Presently, Dr. Michael Branch practices full time at our clinic. His focus is sports injury, consultation, treatment and prevention, automobile accident and work related injury treatment, spinal stress and family chiropractic health maintenance care.
Dr. Branch serves as the chiropractic treating physician for McNeese State University athletic department in Lake Charles, LA. He also works with Lake Charles Memorial Hospital Sports Medicine whose prime responsibilities include consultation, examination, and treatment of High School athletes.
Currently Dr. Branch serves on the Board of Directors for the Chiropractic Association of Louisiana. He also serves on the Financial Committee for the Louisiana Athletic Trainers Association and was recently appointed by the National Athletic Trainers Association as their liaison to the American Chiropractic Association. He is past vice-president and secretary of the American Chiropractic Association Sports Council and past editor of their official sports publication. He has published a paper relating dizziness to G-Forces sustained by aerobatic pilots.
