John Steven Caraway, DC



Dr. Steven Caraway

Dr. Steven Caraway attended McNeese State University as a pre-chiropractic student. He was employed by Lake Charles Memorial Hospital While attending McNeese State University and was a recipient of their annual medical scholarship award.

In 2003 Dr. Caraway was awarded a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in biology and in 2004 earned his Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree from Texas Chiropractic College. He was an honor graduate and served as both class officer and student representative of the college Ethic’s Board. He was a distinguished student and selected to serve as teacher assistant in anatomy, radiology, physical medicine, and rehabilitation.

Dr. Caraway completed his chiropractic internship at the Moody Clinic in Pasadena, TX and the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, TX. His internship consisted of chiropractic examination and treatment, radiology, and observations in neurosurgery, internal medicine, and pediatrics.

Dr. Steven Caraway has acquired certification in the Eastern Art of Acupuncture and is in near completion of a post graduate Diplomate degree in Nutrition. Dr. Caraway has also specially studied bodily injuries due to automobile, work, and other whiplash related accidents.

Presently Dr. Caraway is clinic director at Caraway-Branch Chiropractic Clinic and practices full time as a family chiropractor. His post graduate education in nutritional counseling, automobile and work injuries is a special emphasis of his practice. Dr. Caraway received special advanced certification in whiplash and brain traumatology from the Spine Reasearch Institute Of San Diego in 2008. Dr. Caraway has also built a good reputation as a pediatric chiropractor and is a headache symptom, diagnostic and treatment specialist.

Dr. Steven Caraway is a member of the American Chiropractic Association and the Chiropractic Association of Louisiana. He was appointed to the Louisiana Health Care Commission in 2007 and assigned an Advisory Board Member to the Louisiana Commissioner of Insurance.  He is an active and contributing member of the Foundation for chiropractic Research and Education and a lifetime member of the Omega Psi Honor Society.
